Not one but two D1 collegiate athletes from Liberty University visited Tri-City to share a glimpse of what college life looks like as an elite athlete, and how they got there.
Grace Gooding is a Tri-City Christian alumna (c/o 2021) who started her athletic career in gymnastics and found her way to diving. She traveled to Mission Viejo to work with a previous gold medalist as her coach and this coach also helped her find the right school for her. She had the support from her parents to pursue her love for the sport which ended up landing her at Liberty University.
Grace Isaacs from Charleston, SC is on the swim team at Liberty University. She started swimming at a young age and at age 12 she dedicated herself to pursuing a dream to compete at the collegiate level. She and her family made many sacrifices. They traveled long distances to get training from amazing coaches and they homeschooled to meet the needs of their family.
Both ladies expressed the perks of being a part of such a great community within their team and at Liberty University. They are well-supported academically and athletically. They also shared how challenging it can be, and the dedication required for what they do. Both of these young women are pursuing a degree in aviation and looking to pursue a career in aviation after their time is done at Liberty University. Best of luck to both of these Liberty athletes. TCC Athletics is so appreciative of the time with our students.
