CIF-SDS Prelims was for all Division 3 schools in the entire CIF San Diego Section. Track & Field Division 3 comprises all high schools with less than 1,430 students. There are 67 schools in Division 3. Only the top 9 athletes from each league were able to qualify. TCCS had 9 athletes that qualified to compete in 12 events for Prelims.
This meet was the CIF Preliminary meet to determine who will progress on to the CIF Finals meet tomorrow. (CIF Finals does not have any divisions, so it’s the top 27 out of ALL San Diego competing). The top 9 in each event qualify for the next meet. TCCS had 6 athletes qualify in 7 events to compete in CIF Finals tomorrow, Saturday, May 21, at Mount Carmel High School! This is very impressive! Don’t miss out! Field events begin at 9:00 am and Track events start at 10:00 am.

A good showing in the Shot Put.
Although she will not be advancing to the next level of competition, she was a significant and consistent contributor to the team all year. We wish her the best next year in college!!
Katie Busch
A good showing in both the Shot Put & Discus, despite some injuries.
In the Shot Put, she was the 2nd highest-ranking 9th grader today. We are looking forward to what she will do in the next few years!
December Jones
Unfortunately, due to an injury from the last meet, December could not compete in the 100m Hurdles today. We are optimistic that she will continue to impress us in the next few years!
We are so proud of these athletes for making it so far into the season!
Please pray that our remaining 6 athletes stay healthy and uninjured for the next week.
